Brownfields 2006

Educational Program Overview

For the first time in its history, the annual Brownfields 2006 Conference will be in held in Boston. Planned for November 13-15 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, this premier event in remediation, redesign, and redevelopment of potentially contaminated properties draws a national audience of nearly 5,000 professionals.

Brownfields redevelopment has captured considerable national attention in the past decade as the renewal of America’s urban areas has moved to the top of the public agenda. Brownfields, which are properties with potential environmental contamination, are found in nearly all urban areas. Clean-up and reuse of these sites has become a major driver of community and economic revitalization in urban settings, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in public and private investment.

Brownfields 2006 will feature over 100 educational sessions and a multitude of other learning opportunities, including an exhibit hall, poster presentations, and mobile workshops.
