CANADIAN BROWNFIELDS 2006: Developing the New Real Estate Frontier

The chair for the conference is Bronwyn Krog, Vice President, Land Development and Planning, Wittington Properties Group.

Brownfield properties are often a community’s most overlooked and under appreciated real estate assets. Realizing their potential can have positive economic and environmental impacts on neighbourhoods, communities and urban areas as a whole. The clean up and sustainable reuse of brownfields as commercial, recreation or residential sites attracts investment, jobs and tax revenue to communities across the country.

Thanks in part to the progress being made by the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN), its Advisory Panel and CBN members nationwide, unlocking the potential of brownfields is no longer the formidable task it once was. There are many tools already available and new ones are always in development. Participating in Canadian Brownfields 2006 is the best way to keep in touch with advances being made in this field.

The Canadian Brownfields Network’s 7th annual Brownfields Event, Canadian Brownfields 2006: Developing the New Real Estate Frontier. The only made-in-Canada event dedicated to the remediation and reuse of brownfields.

The two-day event featuring plenary sessions; the CBN Marketplace; and the presentation of the CUI Brownie Awards 2006 sponsored by the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).

Canadian Brownfields 2006 brings together industry, public sector, practitioners, elected and appointed representatives, all with the aim of progressing the discussion and advancing your thinking on brownfields development.

The CBN Marketplace provides opportunity for delegates to meet and exchange ideas with consultants, economic developers, and industry associations. Exhibits will include the latest remediation innovations, financial tools, solutions and contributions to brownfields reuse. Including round the clock dedicated meeting space and networking to facilitate your deal making opportunities.
